With the seasons changing, it’s time to break out the summer wardrobe! Those of you who live in a year-round warmer climate can still read along — it’s never a bad time to refresh those old faithfuls. In this week’s entry, we’re going to look at some staples you should have in your wardrobe and the best brands to get them from.
Shopping for your fam? We’ve got kids covered too. Check out our warm weather wear breakdown below!
Starting off with women’s summer wardrobe: the season is hotter than ever, literally, and you’ve gotta get the basics that will help you keep cool.
Linen and similar lightweight materials are a way to get around showing more skin to alleviate temperature and we have to highlight Mountain and Isles for their fabulous line of easy, breezy shift dresses that could not be more comfortable to wear, even on the hottest days of the year.
Additionally, Under Armour has some great shorts and skorts out right now that are ideal for hours on the golf course, or simply hanging out during summer days. Shopping Under Armour in store can be a bit of a hit to the wallet, but Proozy offers UA at prices that make them viable as basics you can reach for every time.
If you’re in the market for summer workout wear, 90 Degree by Reflex has a wide variety of tanks and shorts that we love to rely on for an early morning or post-dusk run. They’re also key for sitting by the lake or on the boat!

Now for the men! This summer, it’s also important for you to keep cool. If you’re out hitting the links, mowing the lawn, or captaining the grill, we’ve got a selection of top brands to shop for optimal comfort and style.
Canada Weather Gear, while typically known for their top-notch winter coats, also have a great selection of warm weather styles. Specifically, we’re big fans of their Men’s Bengaline short and other similar varieties. They’ve also got a fantastic array of t-shirts, polos, and short sleeve henleys that we’ll be rocking this summer.
Another stellar contender for the absolute dog days is Eddie Bauer — their 24 Hour tee is of particular note because of just how comfortable and lightweight the jersey fabric they’re made out of feels to the skin. Anything in their terry material is also spectacular for summer wear (and that transition into autumn) because they add a layer of warmth that perfectly suits bonfire nights and out on the water fishing early mornings.
In the accessory department, Oakley is a standout performer for their wide variety of sunglasses that are built to suit an assortment of activities with different levels of polarization — and on top of that, so many styles to flatter your personal taste.

If you’re shopping for a younger girl in your family, we have suggestions that suit her whether she’s a little fashionista in training or loves to play hard all day long (or both!).
Tommy Hilfiger has excellent cost-conscious shorts and tees for a growing girl that are both stylish and durable — the best of both worlds. We love their bike shorts as a buy-several-pairs type of item, they’re sporty and comfortable and made of a cotton blend material that lasts. They’ll become her favorite go-to, so you better have a few pairs to keep in rotation.
On the more stylish side, Nautica is kicking off the summer right with chambray garments that are the ideal fabric weight for summer wear without sweating it out. It’s somewhat rare to see kids garments in a chambray, and we love that Nautica went there. They also have cute little hoodies and shorts for those days on the colder side of 65 degrees and sunny!
Third and finally, Juicy Couture's girl’s wear is to die for this year. Their graphic tees are bright, colorful, and glittery — made to be loved and in high demand by your little trendsetter.

Rounding off the pack, we’ve got ideas for the little man in your life too. Along the same lines as the rest of the family, lightweight and durable are the feature characteristics we’re keeping in mind.
It’s never too early to start him out on the golf course, and Travis Mathew has a version of their MORE BETTERNESS polo he’ll actually want to wear. Made in a moisture-wicking material that’s built to be breathable, it’s a perfect way to get him into the typical golf course dress code style.
Lucky Brand is our next recommendation for little boy basics this summer: their easy pull-on short is a blessing for child and parent alike. No fussing around and they come in cute khaki as well as a muted blue tone. This is another buy-several-pairs type of product, for ease of wear alone. He can play all day in these!
To finish off, try out some TOMS this summer. This is the little shoe that could — impressively sturdy soles and a canvas fabric structure that won’t have his feet confined and sweaty. As an added bonus, these shoes can simply be thrown in the washing machine if they start to look a little worse for wear.
